Microsoft owe(s) Mac / Apple
Steve Jobs changed the world in 1984 and has continued to do so till this day. Bill Gates has copied Steve Jobs since 1984 and is still doing so today. When it comes down to the obituaries, Bill Gates copied an operating system poorly, sold it to many with faults, charged them more to fix it and continued on this route till death. Steve Jobs - started the personal computer - innovated all the way - brought new technologies, transformed operating systems and finished Microsoft off by 2010 with a new, free, cross-platform operating system.
But now Apple is Intel-based and is trying to run Apple, Windows, and Linux. I think that Mac is going to rock. But both the Mac and Windows operating systems need to watch out for the open-source alternative Linux. Lindows looks like the Macintosh desktop and can function like the Windows desktop but is opensource so is way less expensive.
Apple is going to be stuck selling iPods and Microsoft will be stuck ripping off Apple. That is, until all those stupid iPod owners trade in their overpriced devices are already replaced by cell phones.

Josh Wood: I think this is one of the most thoughtless and stupid things I‘ve ever read. There are three paragraphs of nothing but crap. Steve Jobs wasn‘t the one who designed the Apple operating system in the 80s, it was Steve Wozniak. By the way, thanks for the prediction for the future, now I know what‘s going to happen in 2010. I also liked the description of Linux and how it is "so is way less expensive." Dumbass

iPOD/iTUNES is another DRM shit made for RIAA! You can get a phone with nice MP3 support and half gig storage for price of that crap and without being spied upon.
NotAmacguy: Jobs tried multiple times to kill the Macintosh project, which was spearheded by Jef Raskin in 1979. All Jobs is owed is a swift kick in the ass.
anonymous: Mac users: People who have either never used a Windows, or are too lazy to make the switch. Of those (the latter category especially), they work off the frustrations from their inferior computers by mocking the Windows operation systems, using blatantly false arguments, or ones that have been out of date since Windows 98.
anonymous: It‘s not accurate to claim Microsoft copied Windows from Apple‘s Mac OS. Both companies copied innovations they saw at Xerox PARC. The people at Xerox PARC are the true inventors of the modern GUI.

I saw one of those typical ubersmug Mac advert virals recently, where some guy was claiming that Vista had just completely copied the Mac GUI.
So what? interface design ideas have been generated by talented designers all over the place, in particular, certain flash websites for example. No one is claiming Mac ripped off the first person to make a shiny glass button on a website are they.
The funniest thing about that argument though is the fact that the only thing Mac had going for it over PCs was that it had a nice shiny intuitive interface. Now Windows has that too, the only thing it has going for it is the fact that no one can be bothered to learn how to hack Macs or write viruses for them. The main reason being that most Mac owners don‘t have anything worth hacking into other than pictures of their gay lovers, and empty bank accounts because they spent all their money on an overpriced computer just because it looked ‘pretty‘
